God winks to show us the lighter side of life
God Winks
I love this concept of God Winks! Nature has always been for me a method for God's revelation. Sometimes it comes in gentle nudges or murmurings and sometimes it comes as a clear, precise, forceful message.
As I ponder all the God Winks in my life they are numerous but the ones that seem to stick in my memory or those that transpire when I am in most need of a wink - an encouragement to see the lighter side of a situation. Sometimes the didn't involve nature at all. Unless you consider children as nature which I often do as they are so open and honest.
When I think about all the winks I have probably missed a quote from Teresa of Avila comes to mind:
"Although I have often abandoned you, O Lord, you have never abandoned me. Your hand of love is always outstretched towards me, even when I stubbornly look the other way. And your gentle voice constantly calls me, even when I obstinately refuse to listen."
This might be a time to think and write times when God has winked at you. A time when in a particular situation you saw God smile down and you felt He had "gottcha". Your attention to see or hear the blessing he had for you at that moment.
May this journaling bring a smile to your face and a sense of knowing how much you are loved.
